Surat: Ahead of the Ganeshotsav celebrations, Surat Police has stepped up security arrangements to maintain law and order and ensure that citizens can celebrate the festival without fear.
As part of the security preparations, joint foot patrols were conducted across different police station jurisdictions in the city by local police personnel and members of the Rapid Action Force (RAF).
139 Security Personnel and Surat Police Participate in Patrols
Around 139 security personnel participated in the foot-patrolling exercise. This included approximately 120 RAF officers and personnel, along with officers and police personnel from the respective local police stations.
The coordinated patrols were organised to strengthen police visibility, deter anti-social activities and maintain public confidence during the festive period.
Police Appeal for Peace and Harmony
While moving through different areas, police personnel interacted with local residents and shopkeepers. They appealed to citizens and traders to maintain peace, harmony and mutual cooperation throughout the Ganeshotsav celebrations.
The initiative also aimed to create a sense of security among the public and reinforce the message that anti-social elements would not be allowed to disturb the peaceful atmosphere during the festival.
Security Arrangements Strengthened Ahead of Celebrations
With large numbers of devotees expected to visit Ganesh mandals and participate in processions, maintaining public safety remains a key priority for the city administration and police.
The joint presence of Surat Police and RAF personnel is intended to ensure effective monitoring of sensitive areas, discourage unlawful activities and support peaceful festival celebrations across the city.
Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with security personnel and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
