Vadodara: The Vadodara SOG has arrested one person and seized heroin and poppy husk allegedly being kept for illegal sale during a raid at a residential premises in Ranoli village.
According to the police press note, the total value of the seized material and other items is estimated at ₹20,91,435. An offence has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Jawaharnagar Police Station.
Raid Conducted in Ranoli Village
The SOG team was conducting patrols in the Ranoli area when an officer reportedly received information from an informant about suspected drug activity at a rented house in Chikuwadi, behind Limdi Faliya.
Based on the information, police verified the premises and conducted a raid following the required procedures under the NDPS Act. Police said Satnamsingh Niranjansingh Jat, originally from Tarn Taran district of Punjab, was found at the residence during the operation.
103.70 Grams of Heroin Seized
During the search, SOG officials allegedly recovered 103.70 grams of heroin, valued by police at approximately ₹20.74 lakh. Police also recovered 539 grams of poppy husk powder, valued at around ₹8,085.
In addition to the alleged narcotics, officials seized cash connected with the suspected sale, a mobile phone and other material. The total value of the seized property was estimated at ₹20.91 lakh.
Police Allege Drugs Were Being Sold to Truck Drivers
According to the police investigation described in the press note, the arrested accused allegedly told investigators that he had been obtaining heroin from another person living in Ranoli and selling it in small quantities to customers.
Police further stated that the accused allegedly purchased poppy-husk powder from an unidentified truck driver near Golden Chowkdi several days before the raid and intended to sell it in smaller quantities. These statements form part of the police investigation and will be subject to the legal process.
Another Suspect Named as Wanted
Police have identified Paragatsingh Ajayabsingh Bharat (Sardar), a resident of Akshar Residency in Ranoli, as the alleged person who supplied the heroin to the arrested accused. He has not been arrested so far and has been listed as wanted in connection with the case.
Police are also investigating the identity of the unidentified truck driver who allegedly supplied the poppy-husk powder.

- Heroin: 103.70 grams – approximately ₹20,74,000
- Poppy husk powder: 539 grams – approximately ₹8,085
