Vote Counting Underway for Vapi Municipal Corporation, Umargam Municipality, District and Taluka Panchayat Elections
The much-awaited results of the Valsad Local Body Elections 2026 are being declared today as vote counting has officially started across eight counting centers in the district. Elections were held for Vapi Municipal Corporation, Umargam Municipality, District Panchayat, and Taluka Panchayat seats.
Candidates, political parties, and voters across the district are closely watching the counting process as the fate of hundreds of candidates will be decided today.
To ensure smooth and peaceful counting, the administration has deployed more than 1,450 police personnel across all counting centers under strict security arrangements.
Vapi Municipal Corporation Election Result Today
The vote counting for the Vapi Municipal Corporation election is being conducted at Purush Adhyapan Mandir. This election is considered one of the most significant local body contests in South Gujarat.
A total of 120 candidates are in the race for 51 seats of the Municipal Corporation. Out of the total 52 seats across 13 wards, one seat was won uncontested by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while voting was held for the remaining 51 seats.
The decision of 81,755 voters will determine the final outcome, making this one of the most closely watched elections in the district. Political parties are expecting strong competition as the final results will shape the future governance of Vapi city.
Umargam Municipality Vote Counting Underway
The vote counting for Umargam Municipality is being carried out at Umargam Kumarshala. This local body election is equally important as it will decide the administrative leadership of the town for the coming years.
Out of the 28 seats across 7 wards, 8 seats were won uncontested by the BJP, while polling was conducted for the remaining 20 seats.
A total of 29,182 voters participated in deciding the future of these seats. Candidates and supporters are eagerly waiting for the round-wise updates from the counting center.
The final result will determine the political direction of Umargam Municipality.
District Panchayat Election Results for 32 Seats
The vote counting for Valsad District Panchayat seats is also underway today. Out of the total 36 seats, 4 seats were won uncontested by the BJP, while elections were held for the remaining 32 seats.
A total of 92 candidates are in the contest for these 32 seats, and today their political future will be decided.
The District Panchayat election plays a major role in rural governance, development planning, and implementation of welfare schemes across villages in the district.
The results are expected to have a significant political impact on district-level administration.
Taluka Panchayat Election Results for 138 Seats
The Taluka Panchayat elections are also drawing major attention across Valsad district. Elections were held across six Taluka Panchayats for a total of 150 seats.
Out of these, 12 seats were won uncontested by the BJP, while polling was conducted for the remaining 138 seats.
A total of 363 candidates are in the race for these seats, making it one of the largest election contests in the district.
Today’s results will decide the political leadership of six Taluka Panchayats and influence local governance at the grassroots level. The outcome will also reflect voter sentiment across rural Valsad.
Heavy Police Deployment for Peaceful Counting
To ensure peaceful and transparent vote counting, the district administration has arranged tight security at all counting centers.
More than 1,450 police personnel have been deployed to manage crowd control, maintain law and order, and prevent any untoward incidents during the result declaration process.
Only authorized personnel are being allowed inside the counting centers, while strict monitoring is being carried out at all entry and exit points. Officials have stated that every effort is being made to complete the counting process smoothly and efficiently.
