Alternative Mobile Methods: Saphalam App and DigiLocker
1. The Saphalam App Method
For mobile-first users experiencing slow browser load speeds, the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has optimized the SAPHALAM KITE App. Students can install the application from the Google Play Store, type in their registration details, and pull up their district-wise or school-wise performance metrics within seconds.
2. Digital Document Access via DigiLocker
The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education has synced all student portfolios with the national DigiLocker system. Students can log into their Aadhaar-linked DigiLocker application, go to the “Education Documents” section, search for DHSE Kerala, and save an officially recognized digital copy of their Class 12 marksheet for future security.
A Note on Grading, Transparency, and Toppers
In accordance with policy decisions implemented to reduce unhealthy peer pressure and curb academic stress, the Kerala DHSE does not officially broadcast an individual, ranked “Toppers List”. Instead, the department evaluates student success through aggregate statistical performance indices, specifically focusing on the number of students achieving a perfect A+ grade across all combinations.
To pass the board exams smoothly, students must secure a baseline minimum of 30% marks (D+ Grade) in each separate subject as well as in cumulative aggregate totals across internal assessments and final board terms. Those who unfortunately miss the target passing marks will be given an immediate opportunity to improve their scores through the SAY (Save An Year) compartment examinations scheduled to take place next month.
