Western Railway has announced the cancellation of 19 passenger trains following severe weather conditions and operational disruptions caused by heavy rainfall across parts of western India. In addition to the cancellations, three special trains have been short-terminated, affecting passengers travelling between Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
The latest railway operational update, issued at 12:00 PM on July 24, 2026, advises passengers to verify their train status before leaving for railway stations.
The cancellations include several important long-distance trains such as Shatabdi Express, Vande Bharat Express, Paschim Express, Karnavati Express, Gujarat Queen, Saurashtra Janta Express, and other Superfast and MEMU services.
Why Were the Trains Cancelled?
According to Western Railway officials, continuous heavy rainfall has affected railway operations on multiple routes. As a precautionary measure and to ensure passenger safety, several train services have been fully cancelled while a few have been terminated before reaching their final destinations.
Railway authorities are closely monitoring weather conditions and infrastructure before restoring normal train operations.

- Short-terminated at Dahod
- Cancelled between Dahod and Mumbai Central

Apart from rail services, road traffic and local transportation have also been impacted in some areas due to waterlogging and operational challenges. Railway officials stated that train services will be restored once weather conditions improve and track inspections confirm safe operations.
