Voting Process Concludes in Surat at 6 PM on Sunday
The voting process for the Surat Municipal Election 2026 officially concluded at 6:00 PM on Sunday, marking the end of polling across all 30 wards of Surat Municipal Corporation. As soon as the final hour arrived, election officials began preparations to seal the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) units at polling booths across the city.
Even during the final moments before the gates were closed, voters were seen arriving at various polling booths to cast their votes. Election authorities ensured that all voters who had entered before the deadline were allowed to complete the voting process.
According to the official update released at 6:00 PM, Surat recorded a total voter turnout of 53.13%, with over 13.15 lakh votes cast in the civic body elections. Official data from the administration confirms that out of the total 24,76,378 registered voters, 13,15,593 voters exercised their democratic right.
