SURAT: Residents of several areas in Surat are likely to face water supply disruptions and low-pressure and Surat water cut on August 12 and 13 due to scheduled leakage repair work on a major water pipeline.
The repair work will be carried out on the 1,219 mm main water pipeline near Baroda Prestige Junction on Varachha Main Road. As a result, water supply will remain temporarily affected in several parts of the Central Zone and Varachha-A Zone.
Surat Water Cut to Remain Affected on August 12
According to the schedule, residents in several areas will experience either a complete water supply shutdown or reduced pressure during different parts of the day.
Central Zone – South Division
Morning water supply will remain completely shut in the following areas:
- Begampura
- Salabatpura
- Gopipura
- Sagrampura
- Nanpura
- Rudrapura
- Soni Faliya
- Surat Railway Station area
- Sumul Dairy area
Residents in these areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance to manage household requirements during the disruption.
Varachha-A Zone
The afternoon water supply will remain shut in several areas of Varachha-A Zone, including:
- Ashwinikumar
- Fulpada
- Lambe Hanuman Road
- Umarwada
- Nana Varachha
- Karanj
- Kapodra
- Sitaram Society
- Aai Mata Road
The disruption is expected to be temporary while municipal teams carry out the pipeline leakage repair work.
Low Water Pressure Expected on August 13
The impact of the repair work may continue into August 13, with residents of the affected areas likely to receive water at low pressure. Residents living in upper floors and areas located farther from distribution points may experience greater pressure-related issues.

Citizens in the affected areas are advised to make arrangements for essential water requirements before the scheduled maintenance work begins.
