In a major breakthrough under the “Mission Safe Station” campaign, the Vadodara Railway Local Crime Branch (LCB) has arrested a 19-year-old woman involved in a train theft case and recovered stolen gold jewellery worth ₹8.47 lakh. The operation led to the successful detection of an undetected theft case registered at the Vadodara Railway Police Station.
The recovery includes original gold ornaments, diamond-studded jewellery, silver ornaments, and imitation jewellery that were allegedly stolen from a passenger travelling in an AC coach.
Mission Safe Station Strengthens Passenger Security
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Railways Additional Inspector General of Police K. N. Damor and Railway Superintendent of Police Abhay Soni as part of the ongoing Mission Safe Station initiative aimed at enhancing passenger safety across railway stations and trains. The investigation was supervised by LCB PI T. V. Patel, while PSI M. N. Parmar and In-charge PSI M. V. Rabari led the field operation.
Theft Took Place on Indore Special Express
According to police, the theft occurred on June 29, 2026, aboard Train No. 09079 Indore Special Express. The complainant reported that a purse containing valuable gold ornaments had been stolen while travelling in the train’s air-conditioned coach.
Following the complaint, the Railway LCB launched a detailed investigation.
CCTV, Technical Surveillance Help Police Crack Case
Police teams examined:
- CCTV footage from railway stations
- Human intelligence inputs
- Technical surveillance
- Movement patterns of suspected offenders
Based on the collected evidence, officers identified and arrested the accused.
The arrested woman has been identified as:
Khushi Kamlesh Pandey (Age: 19)
Resident of Sahajanand Society, Godadara, Surat.
₹8.47 Lakh Worth of Jewellery Recovered
Police recovered stolen jewellery valued at ₹8,47,347 from the accused.
Recovered Property Includes:
- Diamond-studded gold rings
- Gold pendants
- Gold chain
- Lakshmi-design gold pendant
- Silver chain
- Imitation jewellery
- Other valuable ornaments
The entire recovered property has been seized under a legal panchnama and handed over to the Vadodara Railway Police Station for further investigation.
Accused Has Previous Theft Cases
During the investigation, police found that the accused has a criminal history. According to officials, she had previously been involved in theft cases registered at:
- Surat Railway Police Station
- Udhna Police Station
- Surat City Police
- Borivali Railway Police Station, Mumbai
Police stated that she had earlier been booked as a juvenile in several theft-related offences.
Mission Safe Station Continues Across Railway Network
Officials said the successful detection has further strengthened the Mission Safe Station campaign, which focuses on:
- Preventing thefts on trains
- Improving railway passenger safety
- Increasing surveillance at stations
- Detecting property-related crimes quickly
- Strengthening intelligence-based policing
