Gujarat Rainfall data in the last 24 hours
Gandhinagar/Surat: Gujarat witnessed widespread rainfall over the last 24 hours, with rain recorded across 259 talukas of the state. Kutch and Saurashtra received some of the heaviest showers, while several areas of Central and South Gujarat, including Surat, also experienced significant rainfall.
According to the latest rainfall figures, Anjar in Kutch recorded the highest rainfall at 7.24 inches in the last 24 hours. Heavy showers were also reported from Vallabhipur, Jamnagar, Kotda Sangani and several other parts of the state.
Anjar Records Highest Rainfall
Kutch remained one of the worst-affected regions during the latest spell of rain. Anjar recorded 7.24 inches of rainfall, the highest among the reported locations.

- Gandhidham: 4.61 inches
- Bhachau: 4.41 inches
The intense rainfall resulted in water accumulation in several low-lying areas, while overflowing drains and water bodies added to the impact in some locations.
Heavy Rain in Saurashtra
Saurashtra also received widespread and heavy rainfall during the 24-hour period. allabhipur in Bhavnagar district recorded 6.10 inches, while Jamnagar city received 5.59 inches. Rajkot’s Kotda Sangani also recorded 5.20 inches of rainfall.

Surat Also Receives Heavy Rain
South Gujarat was not spared from the latest spell of rainfall. Surat city recorded around 4.17 inches of rain during the last 24 hours. The rainfall brought relief from dry conditions in several areas but also raised concerns about waterlogging and traffic disruption in low-lying parts of the city. Other parts of South Gujarat also witnessed widespread showers.
Central Gujarat Sees Widespread Rain
Several areas of Central Gujarat also received significant rainfall. Borsad in Anand district recorded 5.51 inches, while Kadi in Mehsana received 4.29 inches and Karjan in Vadodara district recorded 4.29 inches. Nadiad recorded around 4.06 inches, while Dholka received 4.13 inches. Ahmedabad city also recorded around 3.43 inches of rain.
IMD Issues Rain Warning for Saurashtra and Kutch
The India Meteorological Department has indicated that the rainy conditions will continue in parts of Gujarat. For 15 September, isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Saurashtra and Kutch, according to the IMD’s latest update.
A yellow alert has also been reported for several Saurashtra districts, including Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh and Rajkot. Meanwhile, lighter rainfall is expected in parts of South Gujarat, while rainfall activity is expected to gradually decrease from 16 September.
Rainfall Intensity Expected to Reduce
Although Gujarat has witnessed widespread rainfall over the past 24 hours, the current forecast indicates that rainfall activity could gradually weaken from Wednesday, September 16.
However, residents in areas under heavy-rain warnings should remain alert, particularly in low-lying locations and areas vulnerable to waterlogging. Farmers and people travelling through rain-affected areas are also advised to monitor official weather updates. The latest rainfall spell has once again highlighted the widespread nature of Gujarat’s monsoon activity, with 259 talukas recording rain in just 24 hours and several locations receiving more than four to seven inches of rainfall.
