Vadodara, September 4, 2026: Vadodara Crime Branch has apprehended two men in connection with an alleged MD drug case and seized 51.510 grams of mephedrone (MD) valued at approximately ₹1.54 lakh. The action was carried out near Laxminagar Society on Warsiya Ring Road, where Crime Branch officials reportedly conducted a raid and detained the two accused.
Two Accused Held With 51.510 Grams of Mephedrone
The accused have been identified as Husain alias Rashid Kadarmiya Sunni and Manoj Ashokbhai Trivedi.
Police reportedly recovered 51.510 grams of mephedrone, commonly referred to as MD, from their possession. The seized drug was valued at ₹1,54,530. Along with the suspected narcotics, officers also seized four mobile phones, a digital weighing scale, a scooter and cash. The total value of the seized material has been estimated at ₹1,87,630.
Main Accused Reportedly Wanted in NDPS Case
According to the police, Husain Sunni is a habitual offender and was allegedly wanted in an NDPS case. Police records reportedly show his involvement in more than 75 criminal cases, including cases related to robbery, dacoity and attempt to murder, as well as offences registered under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GUJCTOC/GUJCSITOC) Act. The police information states that 77 offences have previously been registered against Husain Sunni.
Accused Has Been Detained Under PASA Eight Times
The investigation has also highlighted Husain Sunni’s previous criminal record. According to the police, he has been detained under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) on eight occasions in the past. His alleged involvement in multiple serious offences has made him a known repeat offender in police records.

The recovery of a digital weighing scale along with the suspected narcotic substance is also part of the evidence being examined by investigators.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
Following the arrests, legal proceedings have been initiated against both accused under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The two accused have reportedly been handed over to Warsiya Police Station for further investigation. Police are expected to investigate the source of the suspected MD, its intended destination and whether other individuals were involved in the alleged drug network.
Investigation to Focus on Drug Supply Network
The recovery has prompted further investigation into the suspected supply chain.
Authorities are likely to examine the accused persons’ mobile phones, financial transactions and other available evidence to determine where the substance was allegedly sourced and whether additional people are connected to the case.
