Vadodara, Gujarat: Preparations for the Manjalpur Assembly by-election have gained momentum after Vadodara District Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Anil Dhameliya appointed 18 nodal officers to oversee key aspects of the election process. The appointments were made following the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the by-election schedule for the vacant Manjalpur Assembly constituency.
To ensure the election is conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner, Dr. Dhameliya also constituted various election committees and held a review meeting with the newly appointed nodal officers. During the meeting, he instructed officials to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines and discharge their responsibilities with professionalism and impartiality.
The 18 nodal officers have been assigned responsibilities across critical election management areas, including manpower management, polling personnel training, election materials, transportation, EVM and VVPAT management, computerization, implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, election expenditure monitoring, and other essential operational functions.
Addressing the officers, Dr. Dhameliya emphasized that all government officials and employees must work with complete dedication to ensure that polling in the Manjalpur constituency is conducted peacefully, fairly, and transparently. He also stressed the importance of maintaining law and order, effective human resource management, and strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct throughout the election period.
The meeting was attended by Resident Additional Collector B. S. Patel, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Rajput, Deputy District Election Officer Suhani Kelaiya, Returning Officer Geetaben Desai, along with senior officials from various departments involved in the election process.
