SMC Announces Complete Evening Water Supply Shutdown in Jogani Nagar Distribution Network
The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has announced a complete shutdown of evening water supply in several parts of the West Zone (Rander) area on Monday, April 20, 2026.
According to an official press note issued by the Hydraulic Department of Surat Municipal Corporation, the water supply interruption is necessary due to urgent valve fitting and pipeline connection work at the Jogani Nagar Water Distribution Station located in Adajan.
Citizens living in affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it carefully during the shutdown period.
Why the Water Supply Will Be Interrupted
Major Hydraulic Work Planned at Jogani Nagar Water Station
SMC stated that the shutdown is part of an important infrastructure improvement project aimed at improving water pressure and supply efficiency in the area.
The Hydraulic Department will carry out:
- Valve fitting work on a 1500 mm diameter MS pipeline
- Connection of ESR 3 and ESR 4 rising main lines to the common header
- Regulation of water quantity across five DMA areas
- Pressure improvement work for better future supply management
This technical work is expected to strengthen the overall water distribution network and ensure better water pressure for residents in the long term.
Officials confirmed that the work will be carried out on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Timing of Water Supply Shutdown
Evening Supply from 5:30 PM to 8:50 PM Will Be Fully Closed
The complete shutdown will affect the evening water supply scheduled between:

Residents in the Jogani Nagar overhead tank distribution network area will not receive water during this time.
