VALSAD: The Valsad district administration has shifted into full alert mode after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast heavy rainfall across the district until August 1. Acting on the weather warning, District Collector Nitin Sangwan has directed all government departments to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure immediate response in vulnerable areas.
The administration has instructed officials to keep evacuation plans ready, deploy rescue boats in advance, and maintain continuous surveillance in flood-prone locations to minimise risks during the expected spell of intense rainfall.

Following the IMD alert, the district administration held a preparedness review and issued detailed instructions to:

- Sub-Divisional Magistrates
- Taluka Development Officers (TDOs)
- Chief Officers of municipalities
