Vadodara: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Vadodara and Padra in Gujarat on September 23, 2026, with the district administration stepping up preparations for her visit.
According to the official programme details reported by News On AIR, President Murmu will attend the annual convocation ceremony of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) in Vadodara before travelling to Padra for a special programme organised by the Brahma Kumaris.
The President’s visit has prompted the Vadodara district administration to begin detailed arrangements covering security, traffic management, protocol and other logistical requirements.
President Droupadi Murmu to attend MSU convocation
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda at around 11:40 AM on September 23. She will attend the university’s annual convocation ceremony as the chief guest and confer degrees upon graduating students.
The visit is expected to be a significant occasion for students, faculty members and the university community. Security arrangements are being strengthened across the MSU campus and surrounding areas ahead of the President’s arrival.
President to travel to Padra in the afternoon
Following the MSU programme, President Murmu is scheduled to travel to Padra. At around 3:45 PM, she will attend a special programme organised by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya on Tajpura Road in Padra. The district administration is preparing arrangements at the venue, including the President’s arrival and departure routes, parking facilities and other logistical requirements.
Vadodara administration begins preparations
The President’s visit has placed the Vadodara district administration on high alert for preparations. Vadodara District Collector Dr Anil Dhameliya and Padra Sub-Divisional Officer Aishwarya Dubey inspected the Padra programme venue and reviewed the arrangements with officials. Officials have been instructed to complete the required preparations within the stipulated time and ensure that all arrangements are coordinated between the concerned departments.
Security and traffic arrangements being finalised
With the President scheduled to attend two major programmes in Vadodara district, authorities are focusing particularly on security, traffic management and VIP movement. Police and security agencies are coordinating with the district administration to finalise the President’s routes and ensure smooth movement during the visit. Arrangements are also being made to maintain traffic flow around the MSU campus and the Padra event venue.

President Murmu’s proposed visit comes during a month that is expected to see several high-profile political and public events in Vadodara.
