In a major political development in Vapi, Dakshaben Patel has been elected as the Mayor of the newly formed Vapi Municipal Corporation. The announcement came during the first general meeting of the newly elected corporators held nearly one month after the municipal elections.
Along with the Mayor’s appointment, Mitesh Desai was elected as the Deputy Mayor, while Satishbhai Patel was chosen as the Chairman of the Standing Committee. All three leaders were elected unopposed during the official election process.
The municipal administration also announced the members of the Standing Committee during the meeting.
BJP Forms Strong Leadership in Vapi Civic Body
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a strong victory in the Vapi Municipal Corporation elections held earlier this year.
BJP Won 37 Out of 52 Seats
According to the election results:
- BJP won 37 seats
- Congress secured 11 seats
- Independent candidates won 4 seats
With a clear majority, BJP successfully formed the new leadership team in the corporation during the first general body meeting itself. Political observers believe the results reflect strong voter support for BJP in the rapidly developing industrial city of Vapi.

Dakshaben Patel, a BJP corporator from Ward No. 4, has now become the first Mayor of the Vapi Municipal Corporation.

The newly elected civic leaders stated that their primary goal will be the all-round development of the Vapi Municipal Corporation area, such as infrastructure development, traffic management, sanitation and cleanliness, water supply improvement, urban planning projects, and public health services
The leadership team also assured citizens of transparent governance and faster execution of public welfare projects.

Following the official announcement, BJP workers and supporters celebrated the victory and congratulated the newly elected office bearers. Party leaders and residents expressed confidence that the new team would accelerate development activities across the city.
