Vadodara: Vadodara witnessed an important diplomatic visit as Chinese Ambassador to India, His Excellency Xu Feihong, visited the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). The visit focused on strengthening international relations, business cooperation and the existing ‘Sister Cities’ relationship between Vadodara and Xiaogang in China.
The Chinese Ambassador received a warm welcome from Vadodara Mayor Gitaben Makwana, the Deputy Mayor, Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu, senior officials and prominent city leaders. During the visit, discussions were held on ways to further strengthen the Sister Cities relationship and explore opportunities for greater cooperation in areas including business, industry, culture and urban development.
Chinese Ambassador also visited MG Motor and TBA companies
As part of his Vadodara visit, Ambassador Xu Feihong also visited MG Motor and TBA companies, highlighting the growing scope for industrial and business engagement. The visits are expected to contribute towards exploring potential collaboration and strengthening economic ties.
Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu also presented an overview of the city’s rich history, cultural heritage and development journey to the Chinese delegation. The Ambassador was introduced to Vadodara’s cultural identity, including a glimpse of Gujarat’s world-famous Garba tradition.
The visit marked another significant step towards enhancing relations between Vadodara and China, with both sides discussing how cultural exchanges, industrial cooperation and city-level partnerships can be expanded in the coming years. The interaction between the Chinese delegation and Vadodara’s civic administration is expected to open new avenues for stronger institutional, cultural and business connections between the two regions.
