Gandhinagar: Ahead of Janmashtami 2026, Western Railway has announced special unreserved train services between Gandhinagar Capital and Dwarka to accommodate the expected surge in devotees travelling to the holy city of Dwarka for the festival.
The special service, numbered 09521/09522 Gandhinagar Capital–Dwarka Unreserved Special, will operate for a total of six trips on September 3, 4 and 5. The move is expected to provide additional travel options for devotees from Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and surrounding areas.
Western Railway special train for Janmashtami devotees
The special train has been introduced by Western Railway considering the heavy passenger demand expected during the Janmashtami celebrations. All coaches of the special service will be in the general unreserved category, meaning passengers will not require advance seat reservations to travel on the service. This could be particularly useful for devotees planning last-minute trips to Dwarka.
Gandhinagar Capital to Dwarka train timing
According to the announced schedule, Train No. 09521 will depart from Gandhinagar Capital at 8:00 PM and reach Dwarka at 5:50 AM the following morning. The overnight service is expected to be convenient for devotees who want to reach Dwarka early in the morning during the Janmashtami period.
The return service, Train No. 09522, will depart from Dwarka at 6:50 AM and arrive at Gandhinagar Capital at 5:00 PM on the same day.
