Navsari Rain: Light rain showers lashed Navsari city and several parts of the district on Monday morning, bringing much-needed relief from the persistent heat and humidity. The rainfall created pleasant weather across the region, though it also caused temporary waterlogging on several city roads.
Since early morning, dark clouds covered the sky over Navsari city and nearby areas, followed by intermittent rainfall. Office-goers, school students, and commuters were caught in the sudden showers, with many getting drenched while travelling. The rainwater accumulated on several roads in the city, slowing traffic movement for some time. Despite the inconvenience, residents welcomed the showers as temperatures dropped and the weather turned significantly cooler after days of intense humidity.
Navsari Rain is not Sufficient for Farmer
However, the rainfall has not been sufficient for agricultural activities. With June coming to an end, farmers across Navsari district remain worried as the region has yet to receive sowing-level rainfall.
Paddy, the district’s primary crop, depends heavily on consistent monsoon rains for transplantation. Farmers are still waiting anxiously for widespread and sustained rainfall before beginning large-scale paddy cultivation. According to local farmers, while the recent showers have improved weather conditions, a strong spell of monsoon rain is still required to start sowing operations across the district.
With the southwest monsoon gradually becoming active over South Gujarat, residents and farmers are now hoping for heavier rainfall in the coming days to ease agricultural concerns and replenish water resources.
