In a major infrastructure boost for Surat, the city is now set to get surat metro connectivity to the upcoming High-Speed Rail (HSR) Bullet Train station. The Gujarat government has proposed a new 4.4-kilometre metro corridor connecting Saroli to the HSR station located near Antroli.
The proposed route is expected to significantly improve urban transportation and provide seamless travel access for passengers using the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor in the future. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the metro expansion has already been submitted to the ministry, and the project is currently awaiting final approval from the central authorities.
Three New Metro Stations Planned on the Route
Under the proposed metro extension, three new metro stations will be developed:
- Kalpataru Metro Station
- Ambaba College Metro Station
- Surat HSR Metro Station
The new route will directly benefit rapidly developing areas including Chedchha, Vedchha, and Antroli by offering faster and more convenient public transportation facilities. Officials believe the new connectivity will help reduce travel time and traffic congestion while improving access to the future bullet train station.

Estimated Project Cost Crosses ₹1400 Crore
According to initial estimates, the total cost of the proposed metro corridor is expected to exceed ₹1400 crore. The project forms an important part of Surat’s long-term urban mobility and smart city planning.
