Traffic Alert: Vadsar Railway Over Bridge in Vadodara to Close for High-Speed Rail Work
The Vadodara City Police Commissioner, Narasimha Komar, IPS, has issued an official notification regarding a temporary “No Entry” zone and traffic diversions for the Vadsar Railway Over Bridge. This closure is necessary to facilitate critical civil work for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project (C-4 Package) conducted by L&T.
Closure Schedule and Timing
To minimize daytime disruption, the bridge will be closed during late-night and early-morning hours:
- Start Time: April 15, 2026, at 23:30 (11:30 PM).
- End Time: April 16, 2026, at 04:00 AM, or until the completion of girder launching work.
Restricted Routes and Alternative Traffic Plan
The project manager has requested a total entry ban for all vehicle types during the girder launching process. The following diversions have been put in place to ensure smooth traffic flow:

2. Special Diversions for Heavy Vehicles & GSRTC Buses
Heavy motor vehicles and state transport buses traveling from Susen Circle towards Khiskoli Circle must follow these specific paths:
- Option A: Jupiter Char Rasta → Tulsidham Char Rasta → Saraswati Char Rasta → Eva Mall Char Rasta → Darbar Chokdi → Manjalpur Bridge → Khiskoli Circle.
- Option B: Susen Circle → Bhavans Circle → Spandan Circle → Shreyas School → Lalbaug Bridge → Motibaug → Rajmahal Gate → Maharani Shantadevi Char Rasta → Jail Road → Kalaghoda Circle → Narhari Circle → Fategunj Circle.
Project Background
This notification follows a request by the High-Speed Rail project team regarding the launching of heavy girders. The authorities aim to ensure citizen safety while keeping the national infrastructure project on schedule.
Commuter Note: Residents are advised to plan their travels according to these timings to avoid delays near the Manjalpur and Vadsar areas.
