Gujarat Medical Admissions 2026: A total of 2,212 MBBS and BDS seats remained vacant in Gujarat after the first round of medical and dental admissions, prompting the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) to begin the second round of counselling.
The vacant seats are spread across medical and dental colleges in the state, including government and private institutions. Eligible NEET-UG candidates who could not secure a seat in the first round can participate in the second round to improve their chances of admission.
The official Gujarat medical admission portal has announced the Round 2 process for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026-27 academic year. Candidates participating from the second round onwards have also been instructed to produce original documents for verification, along with self-attested photocopies.
The development comes as the new academic session approaches. According to the official admission portal, the 2026-27 MBBS and BDS academic session is scheduled to begin on September 15, 2026.
Candidates are advised to check the latest seat matrix, counselling schedule, eligibility requirements and document-verification instructions through the official Gujarat medical admission portal before completing their choices.
