The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has finalized comprehensive arrangements for the smooth and safe conduct of the 149th Jagannath Rath Yatra, scheduled to be held on July 16, 2026.
To ensure a seamless experience for thousands of devotees expected to participate in the annual religious procession, AMC has strengthened infrastructure and public service facilities across the entire 13-kilometre Rath Yatra route.
Comprehensive Civic Arrangements Across the Route for Jagannath Rath Yatra
AMC officials have completed essential works related to roads, drainage systems, public health, fire safety, street lighting, and sanitation along the procession route. The civic body aims to provide a safe, clean, and well-organized environment for devotees throughout the event.
Emergency and Medical Services on High Alert
As part of the safety measures, AMC has deployed:
- 203 Fire Department personnel
- 7 Mobile Medical Vans
- Emergency response teams at strategic locations
- Dedicated healthcare support for devotees and residents
These arrangements are intended to provide immediate assistance in case of any medical emergencies or unforeseen incidents during the yatra.
Enhanced Lighting and Sanitation Facilities
To ensure visibility and cleanliness throughout the procession route, the civic body has installed:
- 560 Floodlights
- More than 440 sanitation workers
Special cleanliness drives will continue before, during, and after the Rath Yatra to maintain hygiene standards and ensure a pleasant experience for participants.
Public Advisory for Citizens
AMC has urged Ahmedabad residents and devotees to cooperate with authorities by following traffic regulations and safety instructions during the Rath Yatra.
Citizens have been specifically advised to:
- Follow traffic diversions and police guidance.
- Avoid buildings declared structurally unsafe or dangerous.
- Maintain cleanliness and use designated waste disposal facilities.
- Cooperate with civic and emergency personnel.
